Almost 60 young players earned their way into the 12th playing of the Pee Wee Championship. Trevor Phillips has the overall lead in the boys action after a first round score of 33. Lauren Stephenson owns the girls lead after she opened her first nine hole round with a two under par 34.
There are also younger brackets competing as well as there are separate division for the 8 and 9 year olds. The boy’s has Trent Phillips atop the leaderboard while Jensen Castle has the lead in the girl’s division. Greenwood Country Club has hosted the event since inception and their members have been tremendous supporters of junior golf.. Pediatric Dentistry of Greenwood, C.E. Bourne and Company, and the Greenwood Regional Tourism and Visitors Bureau have all come together to sponsor the event.
