2011 Pro-Junior Results

 Jared Woerner rounded up his top junior golfers at Forest Club in Columbia and headed over to Woodlands Country Club to square off with 18 other pro-junior teams. The team came together to post a fifteen under par effort of 57 in a day that each player contributed to the birdie barage. With no bogeys on the card, they won by three over Hartsville Country Club and Hunters Creek Golf Club. Forest Lake’s junior squad consisted of Wick Andrews, Jennings Huntley, and Henry Augenstein. Bray Blanton (Miler Country Club) first played in the event as a 12 year old. He followed up by playing in each of the older brackets as a junior golfer and now is the PGA Professional bringing juniors to the event. He is the only player in the history of the event to play in all four categories of team membership.  

Teams are comprised of PGA Professionals that are members of the South Carolina Chapter of the PGA and three of their junior members. The foursomes had three age brackets represented on their talented teams. Juniors age 15-18, 13-14, and 10-12 partnered with their professional in this one day event. Tom Mason; SCPGA President, and the rest of the SCPGA board should be commended on their support of this event and junior golf initiatives in SC. The tournament was hosted by the membership of Woodlands Country Club in Columbia. As a special gift to all of the players, Chris Sitco with AHEAD donated US Open hats from the 2011 championship to each of the players.

Format: USGA rules apply, 18-hole  captain’s choice play.

Eligibility: Open to junior members of the SCJGA age 10-18, still enrolled in high school and SCPGA members.
