NINETY SIX, S.C.— Firm conditions and solid scoring were the themes of the day at The Golf Club at Star Fort as 22 competitors earned their spots into the SCGA Junior Championship at Forest Lake Club on June 21-23.
Jackson Scaletta (Belton) posted the low round of the tournament, carding six birdies on his way to a four-under par 68. Scaletta played solid on the front nine, then caught fire at the start of his second nine, making birdies on holes 10, 12, and 13 on his way to a score of 33 and a three-stroke victory. The only other competitors that posted under-par rounds were Davis Neal (North Augusta) and Luke Block (Bluffton), who both carded rounds of one-under par (71).
All players who shot 77 or better will advance to the SCGA Junior Championship at Forest Lake Club on June 21-23.
