GREER, SC (July 20, 2022) – Round two results of the 24th Annual Blade Junior Classic hosted by Thornblade Club in Greer, SC, on Wednesday, July 20, 2022.

In the boys 13-18 division, Andrew Gregory of Inman finished round two with an overall score of three-under par 139 to take the lead of the boys division. He had an impressive six birdies today for a second round score of two-under par 69. He holds a four-shot lead prior to the final round tomorrow.

“I hit the ball pretty good today,” said Gregory. “I kept it in play, and I was making a lot of putts today so that’s kind of what got it going. I’m planning for no 80’s tomorrow and going to try and keep the ball in play on every hole.”

Campbell Skelly of Charleston carded a second-round score of three-under par 68 to hold the second-place position in the boys division.

Anne Fernandez of Bluffton continues to lead the girls 13-18 division, finishing round two with an overall score of five-over par 147. She carded a second-round score of five-over par 76 and holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round.

“I drove the ball really well today,” said Fernandez. “I was on the fairway most of the time, but my putting wasn’t as good. I’m just going to try and keep it simple tomorrow and try and hit fairways and greens. Overall, I just want to keep my composure steady and try not to get ahead of myself.”

Abby Franks of Roebuck holds the second-place position in the girls division, posting seven-over par 149 overall.

In the boys 13-18 division, the cut line fell at nine-over par with 21 players advancing to the final round. 

In the girls 13-18 division, the cut line fell at twenty-over par with eight players advancing to the final round.

The final round of the 24th Annual Blade Junior Classic begins tomorrow at 7:30 A.M. off #1.
