HARTSVILLE, SC (Nov. 12, 2022) – First round results of the 26th Annual Players Championship hosted by Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville, SC on Saturday, November 12, 2022.

This morning, 106 male and female junior golfers arrived at Hartsville Country Club for the first round of the 26th Annual Players Championship.
In the boys 10-12 division, Heyward Jennings of Greenville posted an impressive score of five-under par 67 to claim the title in this division. He had six total birdies and finished with a front-nine score of 33 and a back-nine score of 34.
“I was hitting my irons pretty good today,” said Jennings. “I was getting it close to the hole, executing my putting and making my birdies. It feels really good to be the champion of my division.”
Zim Atkinson of Columbia and Jack Coleman of Aiken tied for runner-up in this division, each carding even-par 72.
In the girls 10-12 division, AC Peake of Pauline was crowned champion, finishing the day at five-over par 77. She had two birdies today and posted a front-nine score of 36 and a back-nine score of 41.
“I thought I did pretty well today,” said Peake. “I shot 41 on my first nine and I think I really pushed myself to shoot better on my next nine and shot 36. I’m excited and it feels good to be the champion.”
Kinley Brazell of Blythewood posted 14-over par 86 to be named runner-up in the girls 10-12 division.
Andrew Gregory of Inman finished the day with a round one score of three-under par 69 to take the lead in the boys 13-18 division. He fired two eagles and three birdies today to hold a one-shot lead heading into the final round tomorrow.
Harrison James of Chapin, Gage Howard of Woodruff and Rowan Sullivan of Charleston each posted a first-round score of two-under par 70 to sit tied for second heading into the final round.
In the girls 13-18 division, Bridget Wilkie of Bluffton finished the day at three-under par 69 to take the lead. She fired five birdies today and holds a two-shot lead heading into the final round.
Claire Green of Okatie sits in solo second in this division, posting one-under par 71 for round-one.
The final round of the 26th Annual Players Championship begins tomorrow at 8:30 A.M. off #1 and #10.
