Luke Walmet of Mount Pleasant and Andrew Gregory of Inman were the only two players posting a round in red figures as they share the lead at 1-under 71. The Watson Cup teammates will hold a one-shot lead over three others.
“My round was very steady,” said Walmet. “It’s a golf course where you need to hit fairways and greens and take the birdies where you can get them.”
“My round was pretty solid,” said Gregory. “I didn’t make any birdies on the par 5’s today but, I was able to eagle one of them and that really turned the round around.”
Dawson Wallace of Chesterfield, Hugh Lemonds of Spartanburg and Jerry Bruns of Beaufort all sit in a tie for third after an even par round of 72.
