RBC Heritage and the SCJGF

Ladies and gentlemen,

First of all, thank you for taking the time to read this! Most importantly thank you for your participation in, and support of, SC Junior Golf. We are lucky to have the people, facilities, climate, history and all the benefits our great state offers for us to have one of – if not – the best junior programs in the country!

One of the resources that some of you may not be aware of is the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing that takes place each April on Hilton Head Island at Sea Pines Resort and Harbour Town Golf Links…the only annually scheduled PGA Tour stop in S.C. This event is conducted by an organization known as the Heritage Classic Foundation (HCF). Each year, the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing generates more than $80 million of economic impact into the state of South Carolina. In 2013 alone, $2.1 million was distributed to charitable organizations, the arts, medical institutions and college scholarships by the Heritage Classic Foundation. Needless to say, this tournament and the HCF truly are an incredible asset to the game of golf, our local communities and the overall betterment of our state!

One program that the HCF has created is called the Heritage Champions Fore Charity. The goal of this program is to increase the charitable dollars generated by the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing in an effort to provide year round support to the nonprofit organizations in our communities. Through Champions Fore Charity, the HCF will enhance contributions with a 20% match of their own to allow you – the donor – to make a significant impact toward the charity of your choice…in this case the South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation (we hope!).

Let me explain in a little more detail. For contributions of at least $1,000 and up to $5,000, the 20% match will be in effect. For example, if someone has the desire to support the SC Junior Golf Foundation and has the ability to make a significant impact, let’s say of $2,000, that donor can contribute the $2,000 through the HCF Heritage Champions Fore Charity Program and designate the contribution for the SCJGF. In return, and within 30 days, the HCF will take that $2,000 contribution, add 20% (in this case $400) to it and submit it to the SCJGF, thus resulting in an overall contribution of $2,400 to SC Junior Golf!

The contribution is tax deductible as the HCF is a 501c3 charitable organization! The donor also receives the ability to purchase credentials to the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing as well as other benefits and discounts throughout the year.
