EASLEY, SC (June 6, 2023) – First round results of the Upstate Junior Classic hosted by Smithfields Country Club on Tuesday, June 6, 2023.

This morning, Smithfields Country Club welcomed 143 male and female junior golfers for the first round of the Upstate Junior Classic.

 

Matthew Parker of Florence posted the only under par score of the day at one-under par 71 to take the lead in the boys 15-18 division.

 

Jace Danbom of Easley and Richard Anaclerio sit tied for second, each carding even-par 72 for round one.

 

In the girls 13-18 division, Addison Parker of Gaffney and Marissa Scaletta of Belton each carded a first-round score of six-over par 78 to co-lead the girls division.

 

Ella Kate Barnett of Gallivants Ferry sits two-shots back to hold the third place position in the girls division heading into the final round tomorrow.  

 

Bennett Scaletta of Belton posted a first-round score of three-over par 75 to take the lead in the boys 13-14 division. He holds a one-shot lead over Samuel Pelsnik of Charleston heading into the final round tomorrow.

 

In the boys 12 and under division, Kingston Linder of Spartanburg and Thomas DeMint of Greenville sit tied for the lead, each finishing the day with a nine-hole score of one-over par 37.

 

Pete Revis of Greenville sits one shot back from the leaders to hold solo second heading into the final round tomorrow.

 

The final round of the Upstate Junior Classic begins tomorrow at 7:30 A.M. off #1 and #10.
