CHARLESTON, SC (Aug. 9, 2023) – Second round results of the 16th Beth Daniel Junior Azalea hosted by the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, SC on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.

In the boys 13-18 division, Jack Crousore of Bluffton posted an impressive second round score of four-under par 67 to maintain the lead heading into the final round tomorrow. Overall, he is 11-under par 131 for the tournament.

 

Thomas Horne of Fayetteville, North Carolina sits one-shot behind Crousore posting a round two score of four-under par 67 to sit in the solo second place position. Overall, he is 10-under par 132 for the tournament.

 

In the girls 13-18 division, Claire Green of Okatie, South Carolina and Mary Miller of Savannah, Georgia each finished the day with an overall score of one-under 143 to co-lead the girls division after round two. Green fired a round two score of five-under par 67 and Miller posted a second-round score of even-par 72.

 

Alisa Davidova of Roanoke, Virgina, Madison Messimer of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and Ellen Yu of Greensboro, North Carolina each finished round two with an overall score of one-over par 145 to sit T3 heading into the final round.

 

In the boys division, the cut line fell at two-over par with 29 players advancing to the final round.

 

In the girls division, the cut line fell at seven-over par with 15 players advancing to the final round.

 

The final round of the Beth Daniel Junior Azalea begins Thursday, August 10, 2023, at 8:30 A.M. off #1.

The Beth Daniel Junior Azalea is named after World Golf Hall of Fame Member and Charleston native, Beth Daniel. Daniel finished her playing career with 41 professional victories including the 1990 Women’s PGA Championship. Beth’s impressive career and desire to grow the game of golf has led to South Carolina’s highest-ranked female junior golfer being presented with the Beth Daniel Player of the Year award each December.
