CHARLESTON, SC (Aug. 10, 2023) – Final round results of the 16th Beth Daniel Junior Azalea hosted by the Country Club of Charleston in Charleston, SC on Thursday, August 10, 2023.

Jack Crousore of Bluffton, South Carolina, finished the final round with an overall score of 10-under par 203 to claim the boys Beth Daniel Junior Azalea title. This is Crousore’s second SCJGA win this summer.

 

“I really just wanted to hit solid golf shots all day,” Crousore said. “I wasn’t expecting it to be this windy today, so when I got out here my goal turned into make everyone come get you. This was my first year playing in this tournament so to win it feels really good, especially on this course.”

 

Thomas Horne of Fayetteville, North Carolina posted an overall tournament total of eight-under par 205 to be named runner-up in the boys division.

 

Firing a final round score of three-under par 69, Mary Miller of Savannah, Georgia took home the girls Beth Daniel Junior Azalea title. Overall, she finished the tournament at four-under par 212 to claim her second SCJGA win in 2023.

 

“I played really well today,” Miller said. “I putted well and everything kind of just came together. The win hasn’t really sunk in yet, but this is huge tournament and I’m just happy to be here. So, to win it means everything.”

 

Madison Messimer of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina finished the final round with a score of three-under par 69 and an overall tournament total of two-under par 214 to take second place in the girls division.

 

About The Beth Daniel Junior Azalea

 

The Beth Daniel Junior Azalea is named after World Golf Hall of Fame Member and Charleston native, Beth Daniel. Daniel finished her playing career with 41 professional victories including the 1990 Women’s PGA Championship. Beth’s impressive career and desire to grow the game of golf has led to South Carolina’s highest-ranked female junior golfer being presented with the Beth Daniel Player of the Year award each December.
