HARTSVILLE, SC (Nov. 18, 2023) – Final round results of the 27th Annual Players Championship hosted by Hartsville Country Club in Hartsville, SC on Sunday, November 18, 2023.
Richard Anaclerio of Aiken posted a final round score of one-under par 71 to claim the 27th Annual Players Championship title in the boys 13-18 division. Overall, he finished the tournament at three-under par 141.
"I started out pretty good," said Anaclerio "I had 142 into 1, and hit it about a foot so that jump started the day. I three putted 12 to par, on 14 I made a terrible bogey in the fairway, and I knew I needed to birdie at least one coming in. I birdied fifteen, missed two good opportunities on 17 and 18, but I won! Its awesome!"
Bennett Scaletta (Belton), Michael Gavin (Hilton Head), and Erik Erlenkeuser (Anderson) finished the tournament at two-under par 142 overall to tie for runner-up.
Bridget Wilkie of Bluffton was crowned champion of the girls 13-18 division, finishing the tournament with an overall score of eleven-under par 133. She had one eagle and three birdies today to post a final round score of three-under par 69 to claim the title for the second year in a row by nine shots.
“Today was great,” said Wilkie. "I played pretty consistently. I missed a couple of short birdie putts on the front, so I was hoping to get a couple on the back, and I did. Overall I had a great tournament."
Olivia Pellerin of Greenville carded two-under par 142 overall for the tournament for runner-up in the girls division.
