Nicholas Canitano (Milton, GA), Sohan Patel (Weston, FL), Jessy Huebner (Port St. Lucie, FL), Charles Cauthen (Columbia, SC), and William Lisle (Bradenton, FL) all posted an impressive overall score of four-under-par 140 to force a five-way playoff for the 30th Annual Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational title. It was Nicholas Canitano who captured the title after three playoff holes.
"I had kind of a slow start today, bogeying the third hole. It was kind of a poor drive in the bunker, and then went long, which you can't do, but I stayed in it, and I knew I had the leaders ahead of me. I knew if I just played my game, I could give myself a chance,” Canitano stated when asked about his game during the final round. “In the playoff, I just stayed steady. Sohan played unbelievable golf, making two birdies in a row, taking us to the third, and that final putt dropped. I really appreciate the board and the staff here at the tournament. I couldn’t have done it without them; all that weather came through the course, and it was in perfect condition. I really appreciate that ".
The Bobby Chapman board would like to thank the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek for its incredible hospitality and pristine golf course conditions. After completing course renovations, the 31st Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational looks forward to returning to its home site at the Country Club of Spartanburg in 2025.
