ANDERSON, SC (Oct. 7, 2024) – Final round results of the 4th Annual Jackie Seawell Junior Championship hosted by Cobb's Glen Country Club in Anderson, SC on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

Entering the day with a four-shot lead, Mia Carles of Clinton posted a final round of one-under par 71 to claim the first-place title in the girls 13-15 division. Overall, she finished the tournament at three-under par 141.

Posting an overall score of 3-over par 147, Charli Heaton of Lexington took second place in this division and finished the final round at even par 72.

Will Ruth of Moore fired a final round score of three-under par 6 to take the boys 16-18 division. Ruth finished the tournament at seven-under par 137 and had six total birdies today.

Lane Wilson of Greer finished runner-up in the boys 16-18 division shooting four-under par 140 overall for the tournament.  

In the boys 13-15 division, Landry Williams of Bluffton posted three-under par 69 in his final round.  He finished the event at nine-under par 135 to claim his victory in this division.  His score of nine-under par was also good enough to be crowned overall boys champion for the 24 Jackie Seawell Junior.

Bennett Scaletta of Anderson was named runner-up in this division, posting an overall score of six-under par 138 and a final round score of five-under par 67.

The Jackie Seawell Junior was created after Mr. Seawell's passing on June 14, 2021, to honor him and his contributions to golf in Anderson, Aiken, and the state of South Carolina. The SCJGA is honored to be able to help administer a tournament named after one of our state’s great golf ambassadors. 

Jackie Seawell, a native of Anderson, was the first golf professional at Cobb's Glen Country Club in Anderson. During his long and successful career, he had a major and lasting impact on junior golf in Anderson and the state of South Carolina. He was dedicated to the game of golf and had a true passion for teaching and growing the game.
