Dylan Park of Easley posted a final round score of six-under par 66 to claim the 28th Annual Players Championship title in the boys 13-18 division. Park carded a total of seven birdies in his final round. Overall, he finished the tournament at eight-under par 136.
"This whole week felt really calm—oddly calm, to say the least. But, I mean, today, I had a good little warm-up and a good range session. Everything kind of came out of the gate pretty good. The birdie on two really helped. I tried to play a little aggressive; it didn’t work out, but still, a birdie. And then, just the putter—putter has been really, really working this week. So, I was just able to keep that going, make a bunch of birdies, limit bogeys—that was a big thing this week— I just grinded it out”, Dylan Park stated when asked about his weekend at the Players Championship.
Jamen Sanders of Goose Creek finished the tournament at six-under par 138 overall to finish runner-up.
Claire Green of Bluffton was crowned champion of the girls 13-18 division, finishing the tournament with an overall score of six-under par 138. She fired off eleven birdies today to post a final-round score of eight-under-par 64 to claim the title by six shots.
"Today was a really good day. I started out with a birdie on the first hole, I was just wedging it good and making a lot of putts. I just stayed in the zone and stayed focused. It was fun, I played with two other girls, and it was pretty calm. I just stuck to my game plan and put the ball in the right spots, so I was able to capitalize on those moments”, said Green on her spectacular final round.
Mia Carles of Clinton carded a tournament total of even-par 144 overall to be named runner-up in the girls division.
