Columbia, SC – January 2, 2025—The South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) is excited to announce the launch of a new Heritage Classic Foundation tiered system for the South Carolina Junior Golf Rankings, effective immediately. This updated system provides a more straightforward structure, allowing players and families to better understand event levels. Elite amateur events and state/regional amateur tournaments are now included in the South Carolina Junior Rankings.
“We’ve worked hard to create a system that’s easy to navigate while reflecting the true competitive nature of junior golf in South Carolina,” said Justin Fleming, Senior Director of the South Carolina Junior Golf Association. “This tiered approach helps families and players identify tournaments that match their goals and playing abilities, supporting their growth in the game. I strongly encourage juniors and parents to review the new event tiers and the Frequently Asked Questions section on our website at www.scjga.org to familiarize themselves with these updates and make the most of the new system.”
Events have been categorized into specific tiers based on competition strength and event history. The event tiers are now available to view on the ‘HCF Rankings Tier’ tab of the SCJGA website, offering transparency and simplicity for junior golfers and their families.
These enhancements are designed to better represent the dynamic landscape of junior golf in South Carolina and ensure that all qualifying events contribute meaningfully to a player’s ranking.
Key Highlights:
New Tiered Structure: Tournaments are assigned to specific tiers, helping families quickly assess competition levels.
Inclusion of Elite and State/Regional Amateur Events: Broader tournament opportunities now contribute to rankings, encouraging well-rounded competition.
