Fripp Island, S.C.– The South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) is thrilled to announce the champions of the 2025 Fripp Island Junior Challenge, held at Ocean Creek Golf Course on February 1-2.
Championship Links: Scoring & Results
For the first time this year, the sun shined on both days of the event, but Sunday’s final round was challenging due to the ocean breeze. 84 junior golfers navigated the tough test with skill and perseverance.
Hollison Smith from Orangeburg triumphed in the Boys 13-19 division, clinching his first Players Series victory after finishing runner-up in the previous two events. Hollison was steady all weekend and relied on his exceptional ball striking to claim the championship with a two-day total of even-par (142).
Canon Moriarty of Charleston delivered a strong performance, sharing the co-lead heading into the final round and staying in contention until the very end. Battling through the challenging Ocean Creek layout, Moriarty carded a two-over-par (144), finishing just two shots behind the champion.
In the Girls 13-18 division, Callie Lawton from York emerged as the standout champion, claiming her second win in the last three events. Callie posted a total score of 17-over-par (159) to claim the girl's title by four strokes.
Gabriela Carles of Clinton finished runner-up, posting an overall score of 21-over-par (163).
The SCJGA would like to thank Ocean Creek Golf Course, Fripp Island, and Beaufort Charities for their outstanding support in hosting this incredible event. We are proud to provide a platform where the next generation of golfers can shine and demonstrate their skills. Congratulations to Hollison Smith and Callie Lawton, our champions of the 2025 Fripp Island Junior Challenge!
