Hilton Head Island, S.C. – . Welcomed with bone chilling temperatures, competitors would battle frigid winds throughout the final round of the Sea Pines Junior Heritage competed on the famous South Carolina PGA TOUR stop, Harbour Town Golf Links. Champions from both division would be crowned in an interesting twist.

Opening round leaders Buggy Reinke (Rock Hill, SC) and Molly Hardwick (Franklin, Tennessee) hovered at the top of the leaderboard all day. Posting a one-over par on the back nine and final round 76, Adrian Anderson (Murrells Inlet, SC) waited at the clubhouse hoping to stay inside the top-three. Little did she know she would quickly surge to the winner’s circle.

With challenging finishing holes, numerous players atop the leaderboard would falter coming down the stretch as brutal winds would dominate the day. Anderson, SCJGA Player of the Year, stayed consistent as she played her final six holes at one-under par to take the champions title by one-stroke.

For the third year in a row, a playoff would decide the champion in the boys division. Jack Turner (Orlando, FL) started the day in the lead but knew he would have heat on him early. However, after the front nine he would find himself trailing to John Daly II (Clearwater, FL) as he was at one point four-under on his round. Daly would bogey the par-3 17th and finish at one-under for the tournament after posting a final round two-under par (69).

PJ Maybank (Cheboygan, MI) slowly crawled to the top of the leaderboard and ultimately landed in a playoff as he carded a final round two-under par (69). Turner would round out the three person playoff after a bogey on his final hole to post a two-over par (73). Players would be escorted to the ninth tee and extra golf would begin. Maybank would exit first after Daly and Turner both knocked their approach shots within eight feet, draining their birdie putts.

Knocking his approach shot over the green, Daly would have a tricky up-and-down to try and save par. Catching the downslope of the green, his 15 foot putt to save par would just miss, leaving the door open for Turner to two-putt and take the boys division title.
