In the boys 13-14 division, Hugh Faulkner of Greenville defended his title and finished with a final round score of one-over par 73 to claim back-to-back titles. Overall, he finished the tournament at two-over par 146.

“I started off well with a birdie on the first hole,” Faulkner said. “I hung in there with Charles who gave me a great battle today. We were tied heading into the last hole, and I was fortunate to hole out an eagle shot from the bunker so that was a sweet way to finish. It feels good to be the back-to-back champion. This is one of my favorite tournaments, I love how the course sets up for me and I’m just excited to win again.”

Mason Kucia of Indian Land won a scorecard playoff against Charles Cauthen of Columbia to claim second in this division. Both Kucia and Cauthen went four-over par 148 for the tournament.

Defending champion, Sydney Roberts, fired another impressive score of six-under par 66 to be named back-to-back champion in the girls 13-18 division. She finished with an overall score of 13-under par 131, breaking the girls scoring record by one-shot. Since 2011, the record has been held by Lauren Stephenson of Lexington at 12-under par 132.

“Today I started out with a bogey,” said Roberts. “I had to get things rolling after that, but I ended up making some birdies and an eagle on 18, so that got me going. It’s really cool to hold the new scoring record. I like this golf course and I have always played well here, so I had some expectations coming into this tournament. I wanted to take it as low as I could and I feel like that is what I did, so I’m excited.”

Isabella Rawl of Lexington climbed the leaderboard to finish second. Rawl posted three-under par 69 for the day and two-under par 142 for the tournament.

After eight years of competing in the Players Championship, Walker Jennings of Greenville won on the second playoff hole with a par against Harris Holstein of Orangeburg to claim victory in the boys 15-18 division. Jennings finished the day at three-under par 69 and went two-under par 142 for the tournament.

“I started off really solid. I kind of stumbled in the middle of the round but put my head down going into eight and nine, made three birdies in a row and then made about a 15-footer for eagle on 18 to get into the playoff. It feels really good to be the champion. This is my last time playing in this tournament and this is a really good way to go out.”

Harris Holstein went two-under par 70 for the final round and finished second in this division.
