The South Carolina Golf Association (SCGA), South Carolina Junior Golf Association (SCJGA) and South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation (SCJGF) along with our allied associations, the Carolinas Golf Association and the Women’s South Carolina Golf Association, have decided to temporarily suspend all scheduled competitive and non-competitive events through May 10. Our greatest concern continues to be the well-being of everyone involved, and we are respecting the advice of our government health officials and other leaders. We will continue to monitor the situation and communicate any updates with our member clubs and their golfers.
Anyone who is currently registered for a SCGA, SCJGA or SCJGF event scheduled to be held prior to May 10 will receive specific communication about that event. All events scheduled after May 10 are currently continuing as scheduled, including any registration openings and deadlines. Future updates on specific events will be sent through event specific email lists, posted on event web pages, and will be pushed out through all SCGA, SCJGA, and SCJGF social media channels. Please also check out our Frequently Asked Questions page regarding rescheduling, refunds, withdrawals, etc.
This suspension is specific only to SCGA, SCJGA and SCJGF events. Please, if possible, continue to support and play golf at your local club while following the CDC safety guidelines. To that point, the SCGA is working with our Allied Associations throughout the Carolinas to try and make sure that our golf courses are able to stay open and operational through these difficult times. Those efforts include the endorsement of a letter from the SC Golf Course Owners Association to Governor Henry McMaster to allow golf courses to remain open.
